Ghost (1990)

Starring Patrick Swayze, Demo Moore

Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore play the lead roles, along with Whoopi Goldberg in a supporting role. Two of our favorite stars in a story about the power and endurance of of love, even from beyond the grave. The scene with "Unchained Melody" in the soundtrack is one of the best scenes ever (It's a good time to smooch). Whoopi won an Oscar for her supporting role.



Titanic (1997)

Starring Leonardo Dicaprio, Kate Winslet

This is a romantic drama about a poor boy named, Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) who finds himself lucky enough to win a ticket aboard the newly built ship, Titanic. While aboard, he encounters a rich girl named, Rose (Kate Winslet) and the two falls in love, despite their disapproving families. 

This film was written by James Cameron and was released on December 19, 1997. Since its release, this film has won 11 Oscars, 76 other wins in different categories, along with 48 nominations. 50 First Dates (2004)

Starring Adam Sandler, Drew Barrymore

This is a comedy/romance about a guy named, Henry (Adam Sandler) who can't seem to commit to a relationship. That was until the day he met, Lucy (Drew Barrymore). Henry soon learns that Lucy has short-term memory loss, and she can't remember him at the beginning of each day. As he begins to fall in love with this girl, Henry plans ways to make Lucy fall in love with him over and over again each and every day. 

This inspiring film was written by George Wing and was released on February 13, 2004. Since its release, 50 First Dates has received 6 wins and 9 nominations in various categories.




Runaway Bride (1999)

Starring Richar Gere, Julia Roberts

This comedy/romance follows newspaper reporter, Ike Graham (Richard Gere) as he gathers information on a women named Maggie Carpenter (Julia Roberts) who is known for leaving her groom at the alter on the day of their wedding. After meeting, Maggie agrees to give Ike the details as to why she can't make it down the isle. The two fall in love and plan to marry, but will the ever famous runaway bride run once more?

This film has written by Josann McGibbon and Sara Parriott. It was released on July 30, 1999 and since its release, it has had 6 wins in various categories, along with 9 nominations.



The Notebook (2004)

Starring Ryan Gosling, Rache McAdams

This romance/drama follows Noah, (Ryan Gosling) and Allie, (Rachel McAdams) as they meet and fall in love. Years Later, Noah refuses to leave the nursing home where Allie is living. She has developed an illness where she has episodes of forgetfulness. Noah reads to her from a special notebook everyday, hoping desperately she will remember their life together, if only for a moment. 

This film was written by Nicolas Sparks with adaptation by Jan Sardi. The Notebook was released on June 25, 2004 and has won 7 awards in various categories, along with 11 nominations.



Sleepless in Seattle (1993)

Starring Tom Hanks, Meg Ryan

This comedy/romance/drama brings you into the life of a recently widowed father, Sam (Tom Hanks) and his young son, Jonah (Ross Malinger). Disliking all his dad's dates, Jonah calls a radio station to try and find someone special for his dad. After putting his dad on the phone with the radio host, women everywhere tune in. One woman, Annie (Meg Ryan) who is currently engaged to another man is fascinated by Sam's story. Will these two strangers ever meet, and will Jonah finally get the mother he has wanted for a long time?

You've Got Mail (1998)

Starring Tom hanks, Meg Ryan

Product placement aside, this is actually a decent romantic comedy, back when tom hanks and meg ryan did romantic comedies well. Kathleen Kelly (Meg) owns The Shoppe Around the Corner, a quaint children's book store first owned by her late mother. Joe Fox (Tom) is the mega discount book store guy who basically opens up a huge multi-level retail operation that promptly puts Kathleen out of business. The contempt they feel for each other is genuine, yet not as brutal as it normally would be if the two were not secretly falling for each other. Not realizing they've already met in an AOL chatroom, "NY152" and "Shopgirl" fall head over heels in love.



What Women Want (2000)

Starring Mel Gibson, Helen Hunt.

Nick (Mel Gibson) a hot shot advertising executive's life is changed when a fluke accident causes him to be able to hear what women are thinking! At first seeing it as a curse he wants to rid himself of it but then he begins to realize the advantages to having such a gift. His target? Darcy Mcguire (Helen Hunt) the woman who got the promotion he wanted!




P.S. I Love You (2007) 

Starring Hilary Swank, Gerard Butler, Kathy Bates, Lisa Kudrow, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Harry Connick Jr.
